Meet The Team

david angliss
David Angliss, MBA:

David is an highly experienced leadership Coach and for over 25 years he has worked throughout Europe in the financial services, manufacturing and service industry sectors. His key assignments include:

  • BT/Telereal: developed and jointly led ‘Focus on the Customer’, a CRM programme and finalist for the Customer Service Training of the year award in 2007. Participants were supported with one-to-one coaching in shaping their personal development plans and on how they would creating a customer-centred culture.
  • Landsecurities/Trillium: designed and led a team relationship and commercial skills project. Again one-to-one coaching was a key theme of the programme – especially in the context of helping participants raise the performance and personal effectiveness of others.
  • Asda Walmart: worked with over 500 managers in developing their coaching skills in areas such as: talent coaching, performance coaching, development and career coaching and ‘transition’ coaching: moving from a senior manager to Director roles or moving from Field roles to Head Office.
  • David has an MBA, is married and father of a young daughter. He has held leadership development roles with Wesleyan Financial Services, Britannic Assurance Group and Black Horse Financial Services Ltd. He brings real creativity to his coaching sessions – you will find David to be highly personable, patient, creative in how he challenges your thinking and brings new insights into overcoming business or personal effectiveness issues.

Sukhwant Bal PhD:

As a Corporate Psychologist for the past 20 years, Sukhwant has a breadth of experience in leadership development and executive Coaching. He is author of several handbooks, the latest of which is available on Amazon: ‘The Power To Inspire High Performance’. Other titles include: How Do You Spot A Strong Leader? 100 WATT Coaching. Healthy Feedback and Coaching For Change. Sukhwant set up Tools For Leading Change Ltd (and the brand name 100 WATT Coaching) in 1999. Assignments include:

  • Asda Walmart: working with the Executive Team with both 360 degree feedback and Coaching
  • The Cabinet Office: senior level team facilitation
  • Scottish Newcastle: designing and implementing a competency framework, with a development programme
  • Boots: designing a performance management framework
  • Skandia Assurance: training internal Coaches to deliver an accredited high performance coaching programme
  • Thomas Cook: designing a development programme for high potentials
  • Sukhwant lives in the Midlands, is married and has two daughters and a young son besotted with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Steve Blackbourne MSc:

Stephen has worked as a Business Psychologist for more than 20 years. His career began at British Airways as Psychologist, Pilot Recruitment. Subsequently, he was responsible for Selection Methods, Senior Management assessment and Executive Education. He also represented BA at ICEDR for 4 years: a consortium of 40 multinational corporations and 20 world class business schools that commissioned and delivered applied OD research. His key projects include:

  • Carillion: phase 1 of this project involved assessing and coaching 30 Bid Directors: their personal effectiveness, their relationship building, commercial thinking and influencing skills.
  • BAe Systems: designed and led 8 development centres for 60 managers. The focus was on raising self-awareness and supporting individuals to create powerful Personal Development Plans.
  • Within the Financial Services sector, Steve has worked with the likes of: AIB, Aviva, AIG, NAG and AON. As a skilled Corporate Psychologist, Steve brings real depth, rigour and practical thinking to his coaching. He is a member of the Association of Business Psychologists, the IOD and the American Psychological Association.

Carole Costello
Chris Dean MSc:

Christopher Dean has worked as a Corporate Psychologist for over 18 years. He has worked with executive teams and Boards, with team facilitation, leadership development and coaching. Chris has a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors. His recent assignments include:

  • Applied Biosystems: Facilitation of strategy away day for a cross-cultural senior team in Rome. Supporting individuals with their business plans, how they aligned with other team members and crucial conversations which needed to happen.
  • AVIVA: co-facilitator of a leadership development programme at INSEAD. Chris was the lead consultant working with an international group of 40 managers addressing: their role in leading others when they got back into the business, how they would maintain their personal commitments and their personal development plans
  • As an Executive Coach, Chris’s strength lies in his calm, patient style, his depth of questioning and his flair for getting to the real issues. Allied with his strong process skills, Chris provides individuals with a game plan to crunch through even the most complex business challenges. He is described by clients as being thorough, insightful, analytical and personable.

Peter Ellen
Peter Ellen MA :

Peter is a highly seasoned Executive Coach, having worked in management and leadership development, sales force effectiveness and most recently at Board level within the Financial Services sector. He has a Masters in Organisational Development, which he has put into good effect with a range of significant culture change programmes, most recently with Skandia Assurance. Assignments include:

  • Coached newly-appointed Regional Sales Director of Barclays across full range of sales management and leadership issues, leading him to become the No 1 RSD within two years.
  • Coached Head of Regulated Financial Services for West Bromwich Building Society, as part of the set up an independent sales operation
  • Coached Business Consultants within Axa and Prudential, who were offering a consulting proposition within the IFA community
  • Researched Adviser and Sales Manager effectiveness within Allied Dunbar as prelude to establishing industry-leading training and development function. Worked extensively with Managers, one-to-one.
  • Researched Sales and Service Management effectiveness in Rank Xerox as prelude to establishing assessment and selection processes. Worked extensively with Managers, one-to-one.
Doctor Mitch McCrimmon
Dr Mitch McCrimmon PhD:

Mitch is the author of several leadership books: ‘Unleash the entrepreneur within’ and ‘The Change Master’. He is a Chartered Psychologist and a highly skilled Coach, also in demand by some of the leading business schools. He is an Associate Executive Coach for Ashridge. Mitch has worked for one of the big international firms of management consultancies, before setting up as an independent and being part of the 100 WATT Coaching family. He splits his time between Toronto and London, balancing his international consulting assignments, writing and executive coaching. His recent assignments include:

  • Senior level assessment and coaching within various NHS Trusts. Supporting senior players with getting the right balance between meeting their ‘Patient’s Charter’, creating a great place to work and delivering on their budgets
  • BBC: working with senior managers with delivering organisational change, gaining the buy-in and commitment of key stakeholders and driving behavioural change
  • Agip: supporting international managers in the oil industry with leadership development and team development, using one-to-one coaching as a catalyst for personal change
  • As an executive Coach he is pragmatic, grounded and applies lessons from psychological research findings. Mitch has recently become a grand-father.

Tuvia Melamed PhD
Tuvia Melamed PhD:

Tuvia is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with over 25 years experience in senior level assessment, development and coaching. Tuvia combines a unique blend of strong technical know-how with practical and commercially grounded coaching skills. He has combined an academic career – as a Principal Lecturer and a Director for MBA in a Business School, with a wide range of consulting assignments in the public and private sectors. Tuvia worked with both niche Business Psychology consultancies and the big international names, before joining the 100 WATT Coaching network. Recent assignments include:

  • The Highways Agency: designing and delivering a range of change management programmes, including coaching clinics and one-to-one senior level coaching
  • Allied Irish Bank: a lead consultant on a range of assessment for development programmes
  • Old Mutual: designed and delivered an assessment for development programme for senior players
Michael Molinaro
Michael Molinaro:

Michael Molinaro has over 20 years experience in learning, organizational development, change leadership, and executive coaching; a career spent entirely working within or serving the financial services industry.

    His career has spanned firms such as Drexel Burnham Lambert, Shearson Lehman Brothers, Smith Barney, AIG, Reuters, Deutsche Bank, and UBS.

    Michael’s current projects include helping executives successfully lead the integration of two global investment banks, designing programmes which deliver “Management Innovation” in conjunction with a global business school, and coaching senior leaders within banking and other industries.

    American by birth, Michael has lived in London for over 10 years. He studied philosophy at Rutgers University and was the editor of “How to Design Self-Directed & Distance Learning.”

    Michael is currently working towards his doctorate in Organizational Consulting at Ashridge Business School.

    He resides in North London with his wife and children.

David is a Chartered Psychologist splitting his time between France and the UK. For over 30 years he has worked in the area of people and organisational development. In this time, he has taken line roles in British Airways, Conoco and Dubai Petroleum Company. He brings real personal presence to his assignments, real energy and a passion for what he is doing. His recent assignments include:

  • Carillion: a project in the Dubai business to profile senior players: their strengths, their opportunities to become even more effective and co-create a compelling personal development plan.
  • No 10 Downing Street: working with the Prime Minister’s Office, to develop senior Civil Servants. A combination of one-to-one coaching, 360 degree feedback and team facilitation workshops.
  • Travis Perkins: delivering a coaching programme for over 200 managers in: performance improvement, creating a customer-centred culture and creating high performance teams.
  • Prior to joining the 100 WATT Coaching family, he worked with one of the big international management consultancies, where he was part of the Organisational Effectiveness Team.

David Sharpley
David Sharpley MSc

With over 20 years experience as a Chartered Corporate Psychologist, David has a wealth of experience in the City and working with not-for-profit organisations. His strong international experience in West Africa, Europe and the Middle East, equips him to handle a wide range of coaching dilemmas. David has a particular expertise in the use of 360 degree tools in leadership development and coaching. With a real flair for statistical analysis, he brings an ‘evidence based’ approach to his coaching and helps quantify aspects of human behaviour, often deemed difficult to measure or improve. Recent assignments include:

  • National Australia Bank: senior level assessment for development programmes, benchmarking strengths and areas for improvement, against a leadership capability framework
  • Royal Mail: a range of assessment and development programmes
  • Not-for-profit organisations: team and leadership development programmes

Caroline Stanford:

Caroline is a highly experienced Leadership Coach. She is a strong advocate of life-long learning and is a true role model for ‘practicing what she preaches’. She brings real pragmatism and commercial focus to her coaching sessions. Strong on detail, follow-up and planning, Caroline excels in helping senior players work through complex issues and emerge with a clear, focused plan they believe in. Her recent assignments include:

  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office: supporting a senior individual with personal impact and influencing skills
  • Skandia Assurance: training internal facilitators to roll-out a high performance coaching programme
  • A division of Kingfisher: delivering a high performance coaching programme for a high potential population
  • Applied Biosystems (now Life Technologies): supporting the assessment and induction for international Graduates
  • Caroline has been in the Executive coaching and development for over 10 years. She is self aware, personable and highly focused in helping others succeed.

Karen Wilkins:

Has worked as a Corporate Psychologist for over 12 years. Clients value her strong relationship building skills and her person-centred approach to Executive Coaching. Recent assignments include:

  • AVIVA: supporting a team of global managers in scoping their personal development plans and commitments, following a two-week residential leadership development programme at INSEAD.
  • Travis Perkins: co-delivering a high performance coaching programme to over 200 managers
  • Carillion Rail: co-delivering a behavioural skills based programme on leading others through change
  • Karen’s strengths as a Coach lie in the areas of ‘emotional intelligence’ – working with senior players in building trust-based relationships, handling difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy, developing an authentic leadership style and influencing without ‘position power’.
